About the Program

 Visit Folsom’s mission is to increase overnight visitation, hotel stays, and visitor spending by promoting Folsom as a premier travel destination.

The Destination Support Grant Program provides financial assistance to organizations hosting events that contribute to Folsom’s visitor economy by attracting participants, spectators, or visitors from outside the community.

Eligible events may take place entirely within Folsom or may begin, end, or have a significant component in Folsom, provided they generate meaningful visitor activity and support local hotels, restaurants, attractions, and businesses.

The program is intended to support events that elevate Folsom’s visibility as a destination while encouraging overnight stays and repeat visitation.

Because funding is limited, grants are awarded based on available resources and each event’s anticipated tourism impact.

Grant Amount

Up to $1,000

In lieu of direct funding, eligible organizations may elect to receive one complimentary month of advertising on the Visit Folsom Event Boards (subject to availability).

Eligibility

To be considered, events should:

• Take place in Folsom or have a significant event component in Folsom that benefits the local visitor economy.
• Attract participants, spectators, or visitors from outside the immediate area.
• Support overnight visitation or encourage future travel to Folsom.
• Contribute positively to Folsom’s image as a visitor destination.

Preference may be given to events that:

• Generate overnight hotel stays.
• Demonstrate measurable attendance from outside the region.
• Showcase Folsom’s recreation, arts, culture, history, hospitality, or unique visitor experiences.
• Align with Visit Folsom’s tourism marketing objectives.
• Demonstrate a strong marketing plan that promotes Folsom as the host or featured destination.
