Funding Opportunities & Grant Applications

Choose Folsom brings together the Folsom Chamber of Commerce, the Folsom Tourism Bureau, and Folsom Economic Development under one brand and one shared mission: to strengthen Folsom’s reputation as both a thriving community and a premier destination. Through events, initiatives, and partnerships, we work to foster economic growth, attract visitors, and support the organizations and businesses that make Folsom a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

This program reflects our commitment to supporting that broader community fabric. With limited resources, we strive to extend support as widely as possible — often alternating years, tailoring the type of assistance, and being creative in how we “spread the love.” In doing so, we hope to both celebrate our community and strengthen Folsom’s identity as a destination.

Our Commitment

Through the Community & Destination Support Grant Program, Choose Folsom demonstrates its commitment to the people and organizations that bring our city to life. Support may take different forms from year to year, depending on the event type and available resources, but our intent is always the same: to extend partnership, recognition, and encouragement to those who help shape Folsom’s story.

By investing in both local-serving events and those with destination appeal, we celebrate the full spectrum of what makes Folsom unique — a strong, engaged community and a welcoming place for visitors. Together, these efforts ensure that Folsom continues to thrive as a place where businesses prosper, residents take pride, and visitors feel at home.

Community Recognition Gift Basket

• For certain local events where an in-kind contribution is the best fit.
• Recipients receive a Choose Folsom gift basket valued at approximately $150, which includes tickets to one of our signature events.
• This option allows us to extend recognition and partnership to more organizations, especially in years where direct cash support may not be possible.

Grant Levels

• Community Support Grant – up to $500 For Folsom-based non-profits hosting fundraising galas, community dinners, or similar events that primarily serve local residents.
• Destination Support Grant – $500 to $1,000 For Folsom-based non-profits hosting public-facing events that contribute to Folsom’s image as a destination and may be of interest to visitors.
  • In place of direct funding, eligible organizations may elect to receive one complimentary month of advertising on the Choose Folsom event boards (if space is available).

Guidelines & Criteria

1. Eligibility
   • Organization should be a registered non-profit.
   • Organization should be based in Folsom or demonstrate strong benefit to the Folsom community.
   • Preference is given to organizations that are active members of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce.
2. Application Process
   • Requests must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event.
   • Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
   • Due to limited funds, not all requests can be supported each year.
3. Funding & Notification
   • Organizations will be notified via email within ten business days of application review.
   • If approved:
     • For basket donations, the recipient will be emailed when the basket is ready for pick up.
     • For grant funding, the organization must submit an invoice for payment to info@visitfolsom.com no earlier than one month prior to the event.
     • For event board advertising, staff will confirm available space, signage proof, invoice and scheduling.
4. Limitations
   • Choose Folsom is not responsible for lost or stolen ticket vouchers from event donations and tickets are subject to availability.
   • Requests submitted fewer than 60 days before the event may not be considered.
   • Organizations may not receive funding every year to allow equitable distribution.
   • Funding is subject to availability and organizations may be limited to no more than one grant per year if they have multiple fundraising events.
