Foothill Winery One-Day Itinerary: Placer County

The Sierra Foothills are home to more award-winning wineries than you can imagine, and many of them are within a 30-minute drive from Folsom.

When you make Folsom your basecamp for a wine-tasting weekend, you can also save 50% off a Foothill Wine Tasting Pass, a digital ticket with access to tasting flights, deals, and exclusive experiences at wineries from Placer to Tuolumne.

But with so many wineries to choose from, where to begin? That’s where our Foothill winery itineraries come in. Up first? Placer County, just to the northeast of Folsom.

Placer County’s rich winemaking history dates to the 1800s. Today, you can see the traditions and history in its diverse wine offerings, food pairings, tours, and personalized experiences.
