Calling all explorers and observers! On June 28th, from 8:30 am to 10 am, join Senior Park Aide Leenna Keo on this picnic where you will use your listening sense. Are you a great listener? Let’s see how well you can identify and observe different sounds. Each participant will be provided with an activity to complete, in which participants will tally or write down how many human/machines or nature sounds they can hear. At the end, we will share results of interesting sounds you’ve heard, and new things you’ve learned. This is a stationary activity that allows participants to appreciate the natural surroundings and also observe human activity. Bring a light breakfast/lunch, or snacks for the picnic and writing utensils. It is recommended that you bring binoculars, camera, etc. for viewing or capturing the landscape.
Supplies can be provided, but limited, so please bring a pen or pencil to write with, also a hard surface to write on if you can. As always, bring plenty of water. Children of all ages and furry friends are welcomed to join. Dogs must be on the leash and please bring your own doggy bags.
This is a great activity for the family to get outdoors and enjoy the sun!
RSVP is required. For RSVP, questions, or concerns, please email folsomlake@ports-ca.us. Please include your name and the number of people in your party.
