CIM Race Day Transportation and Shuttle Information

CIM is a point-to-point race, meaning the starting line in Folsom is 26.2 miles from the finish line at the State Capitol in Sacramento. That makes transportation a critical part of your race day plan, and Folsom makes it easy.

Important CIM Bussing Info:

  • Runners are not allowed to drive or be dropped off at the Start Line.
  • No spectator access or parking is permitted at the Start Area.
  • FREE shuttle buses are provided for all runners (your bib is your bus pass).
  • All CIM participant buses are funded by Visit Sacramento and the Folsom Tourism Bureau.

Bus Departure Times (by Location):

Location A: Sacramento Convention Center

All buses leave by 4:30AM sharp

Location B: Point West Area

All buses leave by 5:00AM sharp

Location C & D: Folsom Hotels + Folsom Park & Ride

Continuous buses run from 5:00–5:30AM

Location E: Granite Bay

Continuous buses run from 5:15–6:15AM

Plan ahead: There is no gear check at the Start Line. Any items left behind will be collected and donated. Use the Finish Line Gear Check at the Sacramento Convention Center during Expo hours (Friday–Sunday) to have items waiting for you post-race.

Post-Race Return Shuttles Back to Folsom Hotels

After crossing the finish line downtown, buses will return runners to Folsom (Locations C/D) and Point West (Location B) between 10:30AM–1:45PM. Buses depart from N Street between 11th and 12th near the Capitol.

CIM Relay Runners: Special Transportation Notes

If you’re participating in the CIM Relay, transportation is slightly different:

  • Leg 2 Runners get picked up only at Location A (Sacramento Convention Center) at 7:00AM sharp.
  • After the exchange (4010 Manzanita Ave, Carmichael), relay runners are bused to the finish line.
  • There is no gear check at the Relay Exchange Zone. Bring only what you need.

And after you cross the finish line in downtown Sacramento?
Return transportation will be available from N Street (between 11th & 12th) from 11:00AM–1:45PM, taking you right back to your Folsom hotel.
