Rocks & Rhones Event is May 20-21

Five wineries host intimate tasting event in El Dorado County’s “Rhone Zone”

Meet El Dorado’s winemakers under the tall trees and in their cellars during Rocks & Rhones weekend May 20-21 at five Pleasant Valley wineries, located near Placerville.

It’s an unhurried and uncrowded opportunity to discover why Pleasant Valley is El Dorado’s Rhone Zone – a destination that’s as beautiful as it is perfectly suited for growing award-winning wines like Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Viognier.

Pleasant Valley’s wineries are all within a 4-mile drive, and each offers a fun and intimate food and wine pairing experience to enjoy the region’s distinctive Rhone wines. The wineries include: Auriga, Holly’s Hill, Miraflores, Narrow Gate and Sierra Vista.

Guests will sip and nosh on upscale food like shrimp ceviche, pulled pork lettuce wraps, vegetarian shepherd’s pie, chicken skewers, and street tacos with cumin fennel slaw — all paired by the winemakers to complement their Rhone wines.

Spend the night and explore California’s Gold Country by taking advantage of special lodging packages in El Dorado County and Folsom.

A “Mountain of Wine” raffle at the event supports El Dorado County’s Ag in The Classroom programs.

Tickets for Rocks & Rhones are $35 through April 30, $40 in advance and $45 at the door. Designated driver tickets are $20, and all tickets include a logo glass.
