Cheers to Folsom Beer Week!By Megan Murphy
Craft beers celebrated during Folsom Beer Week
Toast away the winter blues during Folsom’s very first Beer Week set for the last week in January.
Kicking off this city-wide celebration will be the “Tap Into A Cold One” Brewfest on Jan. 27, 4-7 p.m. It features craft brews from more than 40 breweries along with tasty small bites from local restaurants. And weather worries won’t dampen the enthusiasm of beer fans as the event will be held in the east parking garage at Palladio (closest to East Bidwell Street). Stay after the event at Palladio for dinner at your favorite restaurant.
Folsom Beer Week, Jan. 27 – Feb. 2, will highlight the growing craft beer culture and showcase Folsom restaurants and pubs as well as the incredible variety of local craft brews. Many will be hosting their own fun events to celebrate the craft beer scene that is growing in Folsom. A schedule of beer events during that week will be updated on FolsomBeerWeek.com.
“Folsom Beer Week is one of four such celebrations in the region,” said Joe Gagliardi, CEO of the Greater Folsom Partnership, which is organizing the event. “This is the perfect time of year for Folsom to check out a new fun winter event and sample their favorite brew,” he said. “Plus, it’s a great opportunity for the brewers to introduce their latest craft creation.”
Gagliardi said the success of the annual Tap Folsom brew event shows the popularity of craft beers in Folsom and prompted the creation of a beer week in Folsom.
Tickets to the event are $40. Early admission tickets are $55 (3-7 p.m.) or two for $100. Early entry tickets are limited. This event not only showcases local craft beer but also supports local causes as a portion of the proceeds benefit the Folsom Police Foundation.
